What is a Contact Lens Examination?

If you are considering contact lenses, your eye exam will have additional testing which will help your optometrist determine which type of contacts will be the most appropriate for you and make measurements for the fitting of your contacts.  Notify us when you make your appointment of your interest in being fitted for contacts so we can also schedule a contact lens fitting which is a longer examination than a regular eye exam.

Your Optometrist will need to evaluate the surface and curvature of your eye and cornea to ensure that the proper type of contact lens are prescribed and will fit when you use them.  He will also measure your pupil and iris and ask questions about your lifestyle and activities to help determine the best kind of contact lenses for you. Contact lenses will be chosen and you will be instructed in proper insertion and care.
