Contact Lens Exam
What Is a Contact Lens Examination?
If you are considering contact lenses, your eye exam will have additional testing that will help your optometrist determine which type of contacts will be the most appropriate for you and make measurements for the fitting of your contacts. When you make your appointment, let us know that you are interested in being fitted for contacts, so that we can also schedule a contact lens fitting — which is a longer examination than a regular eye exam.
Your optometrist will need to evaluate the surface and curvature of your eye and cornea to ensure that the proper type of contact lenses is prescribed and will fit. He will also measure your pupil and iris and ask questions about your lifestyle and activities to help determine the best kind of contact lenses for you. Contact lenses will be chosen and you will be instructed in proper insertion and care.
Call for any questions about a contact lens examination, contact lens fitting or to find out whether contact lenses are a good option for you.
Dr. McDougal cares — you’ll see the difference. He takes whatever amount of time is necessary to ensure my vision prescription is the best possible. He is meticulous when it comes to the comfort and fitting of my contacts. — Kevin M.
